Description

These Air Fryer Firecracker Wings are a mouthwatering, spicy-sweet appetizer that’s perfect for game day or any occasion. The wings are coated in a tangy, fiery sauce and air-fried to crispy perfection, making them an easy and delicious treat.

Ingredients

– 2 pounds chicken wings, drumettes and flats separated

– 1/2 cup hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot)

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 2 tablespoons brown sugar

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).

2. In a large bowl, combine the hot sauce, melted butter, brown sugar, garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Add the chicken wings and toss to coat evenly.

3. Working in batches if necessary, arrange the coated wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket.

4. Air fry for 18-22 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until they are crispy and cooked through.

5. Transfer the cooked wings back to the bowl and toss them in the remaining sauce to coat evenly.

6. Serve the Air Fryer Firecracker Wings immediately, with celery sticks and blue cheese or ranch dressing for dipping.

Notes

For extra crispy wings, pat the chicken dry with paper towels before coating in the sauce. You can also adjust the heat level by adding more or less cayenne pepper to the sauce. These wings are best enjoyed fresh, but any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
