Description

Indulge in the irresistible flavors of this homemade Apple Whiskey Bacon Jam. A perfect balance of sweet, smoky, and tangy, this versatile spread is a comfort food classic that’s quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

– 8 slices of bacon, diced

– 3 apples, peeled, cored, and diced

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1/4 cup whiskey

– 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

1. 1. In a large skillet, cook the diced bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 8-10 minutes. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined plate, reserving 2 tablespoons of the bacon grease in the skillet.

2. 2. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, whiskey, apple cider vinegar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg to the skillet with the bacon grease. Stir to combine.

3. 3. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples have softened and the liquid has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.

4. 4. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the reserved cooked bacon. Allow the jam to cool slightly before transferring to an airtight container.

5. 5. Refrigerate the Apple Whiskey Bacon Jam for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

This jam can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. It’s delicious on toast, crackers, biscuits, or even as a topping for grilled meats and cheese plates.
