Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with these Baked French Dip Biscuits! Tender, flaky biscuits are loaded with savory roast beef and melted cheese, creating a mouthwatering dish that’s perfect for a cozy dinner or game day gathering.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 tablespoon baking powder

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled and cubed

– 3/4 cup cold milk

– 1 cup thinly sliced roast beef

– 1 cup shredded provolone or Swiss cheese

Instructions

1. – Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. – In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the chilled butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

3. – Stir in the cold milk just until a shaggy dough forms. Do not overmix.

4. – Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead 2-3 times. Pat dough into a 1/2-inch thick rectangle.

5. – Arrange the roast beef and cheese in the center of the dough. Fold the dough over the filling, pinching the seams to seal.

6. – Cut the filled dough into 8 equal-sized biscuits and place them seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

7. – Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.

8. – Serve hot, with au jus or horseradish cream for dipping, if desired.

Notes

– For best results, use high-quality roast beef and freshly shredded cheese.

– Experiment with different cheese varieties, such as cheddar or Gruyère, for a personalized flavor.

– Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the oven or microwave.
