Description

Indulge in the ultimate homemade Banana Cake – moist, flavorful, and perfect for any occasion. This classic recipe will become a new family favorite.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 1 cup)

– 1/2 cup sour cream

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan and set it aside.

2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

3. 3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

4. 4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract and mashed bananas.

5. 5. Fold in the dry ingredients and sour cream until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

6. 6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

7. 7. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. 8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

– For a richer flavor, use overripe bananas that have lots of brown spots.

– Top the cooled cake with a cream cheese frosting or a dusting of powdered sugar.

– This cake can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
