Ingredients

– 3 pounds sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch rounds

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced sweet potatoes, melted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Toss to coat the yams evenly.

3. Spread the coated yams in a single layer on a large baking sheet.

4. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the yams are tender and caramelized, flipping halfway through.

5. Serve the candied yams warm, garnished with fresh thyme if desired.

Notes

For a crispier texture, broil the yams for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. You can also add a splash of orange juice or maple syrup to the glaze for extra flavor.
