Description

Indulge in the warm, spicy flavors of a homemade Chai Pear Tart. This easy, 30-minute recipe features a buttery crust filled with juicy pear slices and a blend of aromatic chai spices.

Ingredients

– 1 pre-made pie crust

– 3 medium pears, peeled, cored, and sliced

– 1/2 cup white sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

– 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

– 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)

– Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. 2. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom.

3. 3. In a large bowl, combine the sliced pears, sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. Toss to coat the pears.

4. 4. Arrange the spiced pear slices in the prepared tart crust, overlapping them slightly.

5. 5. Brush the pear slices with the melted butter.

6. 6. Cut the remaining pie dough into 1/2-inch strips and create a lattice pattern over the top of the tart.

7. 7. Brush the lattice crust with the egg wash.

8. 8. Bake the tart for 25-30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the pears are tender.

9. 9. Allow the tart to cool completely on a wire rack.

10. 10. Dust the top of the tart with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a twist, try using a combination of pears and apples. You can also add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the pear mixture for extra flavor.
