This Chicken Sausage Recipe is a quick and easy weeknight dinner that’s packed with flavor. Juicy chicken sausages are sautéed with bell peppers and onions, then seasoned to perfection for a satisfying and wholesome meal.
Ingredients
– 1 pound chicken sausages
– 1 red bell pepper, sliced
– 1 yellow onion, sliced
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
– Salt and black pepper, to taste
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
2. Add the chicken sausages and cook, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
3. Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside.
4. Add the sliced bell pepper and onion to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes, until softened.
5. Stir in the minced garlic, smoked paprika, dried thyme, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
6. Return the cooked chicken sausages to the skillet and toss to combine. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
For a spicier version, use hot Italian chicken sausages. You can also add sliced mushrooms or diced tomatoes to the skillet for extra flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
