Ingredients

– 1 box of your favorite vanilla cake mix

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch square baking pan.

2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, eggs, and milk. Beat with an electric mixer until well blended and smooth.

3. 3. Divide the batter evenly into two bowls. Add a few drops of red food coloring to one bowl and a few drops of green food coloring to the other, mixing until the colors are fully incorporated.

4. 4. Pour the red and green batters into the prepared baking pan, alternating colors to create a checkerboard pattern.

5. 5. Bake the cake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
