Ingredients

– 1 sleeve of saltine crackers

– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

– 1 cup packed brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– Pinch of salt

– Holiday sprinkles or crushed candy canes (optional)


Instructions

1. 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

2. 2. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.

3. 3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Continue to cook, stirring, for 3-5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.

4. 4. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.

5. 5. Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture over the crackers, using a spatula to spread it evenly.
