Description

Indulge in the ultimate Christmas Eve Lasagna – a divine, homemade recipe that comes together in just 10 minutes for a stress-free holiday feast. Layers of tender pasta, creamy cheese, and rich tomato sauce make this the perfect centerpiece for your Christmas celebration.

Ingredients

– 12 lasagna noodles

– 1 pound ground beef

– 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

– 1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese

– 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

– 2 eggs

– 1 teaspoon dried basil

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F.

2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.

3. Stir in the marinara sauce and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

4. In a medium bowl, mix together the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of the mozzarella, Parmesan, eggs, basil, salt, and pepper.

5. Spread 1 cup of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13 baking dish. Layer 4 lasagna noodles on top.

6. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, then top with 1 cup of the meat sauce.

7. Repeat the layers of noodles, ricotta, and sauce.

8. Top with the remaining 4 lasagna noodles and the remaining meat sauce.

9. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 30 minutes.

10. Remove the foil, sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top, and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

11. Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use fresh lasagna noodles. You can also add chopped spinach or other veggies to the ricotta mixture for extra nutrition. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
