Description

Indulge in the comforting flavors of this classic Crab Soup Recipe. Loaded with tender chunks of crab meat and simmered in a rich, creamy broth, this easy-to-make dish is a true delight.

Ingredients

– 1 lb lump crab meat, picked over for shells

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 1 onion, diced

– 2 celery stalks, diced

– 3 garlic cloves, minced

– 4 cups chicken or seafood broth

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning

– 1/2 teaspoon paprika

– Salt and pepper to taste

– Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

1. – Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat.

2. – Add the onion and celery and sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened.

3. – Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

4. – Pour in the broth and bring the mixture to a simmer.

5. – Reduce heat to low and stir in the heavy cream, Old Bay seasoning, and paprika.

6. – Gently fold in the crab meat and season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. – Simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the soup has thickened slightly.

8. – Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

– For a thicker soup, you can blend a portion of the soup before adding the crab meat.

– Swap out the chicken broth for seafood broth for an even richer, more seafood-forward flavor.

– Add some diced potatoes or corn for extra heartiness.
