Description

Indulge in the velvety smooth texture and rich, creamy flavor of this classic Creamy Mashed Potatoes recipe. Perfect for family-style meals, holiday gatherings, or as a comforting side dish any night of the week.

Ingredients

– 3 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes

– 1 cup whole milk

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 tsp salt

– 1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

1. – Place the cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to a boil over high heat.

2. – Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the potatoes are very tender when pierced with a fork.

3. – Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher or ricer until smooth.

4. – Add the milk and butter, and continue mashing and stirring until the potatoes are creamy and well-combined.

5. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. – Serve the creamy mashed potatoes hot, garnished with additional butter, chives, or crispy fried onions, if desired.

Notes

For an extra creamy texture, use a combination of Yukon Gold and Russet potatoes. You can also stir in shredded cheese, roasted garlic, or fresh herbs to customize the flavor.
