Description

Indulge in the cozy, comforting flavors of this Creamy Tomato Sauce Ground Beef Orzo dish. Tender ground beef is simmered in a rich and velvety tomato sauce, then tossed with perfectly cooked orzo pasta for a satisfying and family-friendly meal.

Ingredients

– 1 pound ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1 teaspoon dried oregano

– 1 teaspoon dried basil

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 2 cups uncooked orzo pasta

– Grated Parmesan cheese (for serving)

Instructions

1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

2. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until the onion is translucent.

3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and heavy cream. Stir in the dried oregano and basil. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

5. Meanwhile, cook the orzo pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

6. Add the cooked orzo to the creamy tomato sauce and stir to combine.

7. Serve the Creamy Tomato Sauce Ground Beef Orzo hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

– For a spicier version, add a pinch of crushed red pepper flakes to the sauce.

– Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
