Ingredients

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 2 eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 16 ounces cream cheese, softened

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 2 eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2 cups chopped fresh figs


Instructions

1. – Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. – In a large bowl, cream together the butter and 1 cup of sugar until light and fluffy.

3. – Beat in 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

4. – In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

5. – Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

6. – Press the dough into the prepared baking pan, covering the bottom and slightly up the sides.

7. – In a medium bowl, beat the cream cheese and 1/2 cup of sugar until smooth.

8. – Beat in 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

9. – Spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough in the pan.

10. – Sprinkle the chopped fresh figs over the cream cheese layer.

11. – Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the center is set and the edges are lightly golden.
