Description

Indulge in the buttery goodness of this French Butter Cake, a classic dessert that melts in your mouth with every bite. This easy-to-make recipe delivers irresistible bites in just 10 minutes, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan and set it aside.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

4. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan. Dust the top with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can substitute 1/4 cup of the all-purpose flour with ground almonds or cornmeal. The cake can be stored at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
