Indulge in the ultimate French Chocolate Bread, a rich and decadent treat that will transport your taste buds to the heart of Paris. This homemade loaf is perfectly baked to perfection, with a golden-brown crust and a fudgy, chocolatey interior that will satisfy your sweet cravings.
Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
– 1 cup granulated sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 3 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan and set it aside.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and salt.
3. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chunks.
5. Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
6. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a slightly different twist, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or espresso powder to the dry ingredients. This bread also makes a delicious breakfast or dessert when served with a dusting of powdered sugar or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
