Ingredients

– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup cream cheese, softened

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 3 cups confectioners’ sugar


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.

3. Add the eggs, one at a time, whisking after each addition. Stir in the molasses.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

6. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.

7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

9. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and softened butter until smooth and creamy.
