Ingredients
– 8 bratwurst sausages
– 1 cup beer (lager or ale)
– 1 onion, sliced
– 8 hot dog buns, toasted
– Sauerkraut, for serving
– Dijon mustard, for serving
Instructions
1. – In a large skillet or Dutch oven, bring the beer to a simmer over medium heat.
2. – Add the bratwurst sausages and sliced onion. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, turning the sausages occasionally, until cooked through.
3. – Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
4. – Remove the sausages from the beer mixture and place them on the hot grill. Grill for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they develop a nice char.
5. – Serve the grilled beer brats on toasted buns, topped with sauerkraut and Dijon mustard.
