Description

Grilled Beer Brats are a summertime classic that bring together the bold flavors of beer and juicy, perfectly-cooked sausages. These brats are infused with the rich, caramelized taste of beer for an unbeatable backyard BBQ experience.

Ingredients

– 8 bratwurst sausages

– 1 cup beer (lager or ale)

– 1 onion, sliced

– 8 hot dog buns, toasted

– Sauerkraut, for serving

– Dijon mustard, for serving

Instructions

1. – In a large skillet or Dutch oven, bring the beer to a simmer over medium heat.

2. – Add the bratwurst sausages and sliced onion. Simmer for 10-15 minutes, turning the sausages occasionally, until cooked through.

3. – Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.

4. – Remove the sausages from the beer mixture and place them on the hot grill. Grill for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they develop a nice char.

5. – Serve the grilled beer brats on toasted buns, topped with sauerkraut and Dijon mustard.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can simmer the brats in a mixture of beer and chicken or beef broth. You can also experiment with different types of beer to find your perfect flavor profile.
