Description

Indulge in the rich, moist crumb of this Guinness Chocolate Cake, topped with a luscious, creamy Baileys Frosting for a decadent Irish-inspired dessert.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 2 cups granulated sugar

– 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup Guinness stout

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 2 large eggs

– 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 4 cups powdered sugar

– 1/4 cup Baileys Irish Cream

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, combine the Guinness, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla.

4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined (do not overmix).

5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

6. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.

7. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and Baileys, mixing until the frosting is smooth and creamy.

8. Spread the Baileys Frosting evenly over the cooled cake. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality Guinness and Baileys. The cake can be made a day in advance and refrigerated until ready to frost and serve.
