Description

Indulge in the perfect Halloween treat with these delightful Cinnamon Rolls! Freshly baked, with a spooky-good cinnamon-sugar filling and creamy icing, these rolls are sure to delight.

Ingredients

– 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast

– 1/2 cup warm water

– 1/2 cup granulated sugar

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 4 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

– 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup powdered sugar

– 2 tablespoons milk

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. – In a small bowl, combine the warm water and yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.

2. – In a saucepan, heat the milk and 1/4 cup butter until just warm. Remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar and salt until dissolved.

3. – In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture, milk mixture, and 2 cups of the flour. Mix until a sticky dough forms.

4. – Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, adding more flour as needed, until the dough is smooth and elastic.

5. – Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

6. – Punch down the dough to release air bubbles. Roll out on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle, about 12×18 inches.

7. – In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread the softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

8. – Starting from the long side, tightly roll up the dough. Cut into 12 equal pieces.

9. – Place the rolls in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.

10. – Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

11. – In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and vanilla. Drizzle the icing over the warm rolls.

12. – Serve and enjoy!

Notes

For a spookier touch, add candy eyeballs or sprinkles to the finished rolls. Leftover rolls can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
