Description

Enjoy a hearty, flavorful Homemade Chili Recipe in just 30 minutes! This classic comfort food dish is perfect for a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 garlic cloves, minced

– 2 tablespoons chili powder

– 1 tablespoon cumin

– 1 teaspoon dried oregano

– 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

– 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)

– 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes

– 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

– 1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed

– 1 cup beef broth

– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. – In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes.

2. – Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.

3. – Stir in the chili powder, cumin, oregano, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for 1 minute to toast the spices.

4. – Pour in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, black beans, and beef broth. Stir to combine.

5. – Bring the chili to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened to your desired consistency.

6. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.

7. – Serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, diced onions, and chopped cilantro.

Notes

– For a thicker chili, let it simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.

– Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to control the heat level.

– Try using a mixture of ground beef and ground turkey for a leaner option.

– Leftover chili can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
