Description

Indulge in the irresistible flavors of homemade orange candy – a classic sweet treat that’s easy to make and ready in just 30 minutes. Bursting with real orange zest and a delightful texture, this no-fail recipe is the perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

– 2 cups granulated sugar

– 1/2 cup water

– 1 tablespoon orange zest

– 1 teaspoon orange extract

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture reaches 240°F on a candy thermometer.

2. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the orange zest, orange extract, and salt until well combined.

3. Pour the hot candy mixture onto a silicone baking mat or parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Use a spatula to spread it into an even layer.

4. Allow the candy to cool completely, about 30 minutes.

5. Once cooled, break the candy into bite-sized pieces.

6. Store the homemade orange candy in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

For a more intense orange flavor, you can increase the amount of orange zest or extract. You can also add a few drops of orange food coloring to the candy mixture for a vibrant hue.
