Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with this quick and easy Irish Cheese Toastie. Featuring melted, flavorful Irish cheddar cheese sandwiched between crisp, golden-brown toast, this classic treat is perfect for a cozy afternoon snack or a light meal.

Ingredients

– 4 slices of sourdough or Irish soda bread

– 4 slices of Irish cheddar cheese

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

– 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

1. Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat.

2. Butter one side of each slice of bread.

3. Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, in the preheated skillet.

4. Top each slice with two slices of Irish cheddar cheese.

5. Place the remaining two slices of bread, butter-side up, on top of the cheese.

6. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden-brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

7. Remove the toasties from the skillet and let cool for 1 minute.

8. Slice each toastie in half diagonally and serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For a twist, try adding a thin slice of tomato or a sprinkle of caramelized onions to the cheese layer. You can also experiment with different Irish cheese varieties, such as Dubliner or Cashel Blue.
