Ingredients
– 2 cups all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon baking powder
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
– 3/4 cup granulated sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 1/2 cup whole milk
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
3. 3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla.
4. 4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
5. 5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
