Ingredients
– 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
– 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
– 1/2 cup diced jalapeños (about 3-4 jalapeños)
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
– 1/4 teaspoon salt
– 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
2. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, diced jalapeños, garlic, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
3. Scoop the cheese mixture onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape it into a football shape. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
4. In a shallow bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs and melted butter. Unwrap the chilled cheese ball and roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
5. Place the breaded cheese ball on a serving platter and serve with crackers, vegetables, and your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For a milder version, use fewer jalapeños or swap in diced bell peppers. The cheese ball can be made a day in advance and refrigerated until ready to serve.
