Description

Lentils With Cinnamon Brown Sugar is a comforting and flavorful dish that combines the earthy richness of lentils with the warm, sweetness of cinnamon and brown sugar. This easy-to-make recipe is perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal or a cozy weekend dinner.

Ingredients

– 1 cup dried green or brown lentils, rinsed

– 3 cups vegetable or chicken broth

– 1 cinnamon stick

– 1/4 cup light brown sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. In a medium saucepan, combine the lentils and broth. Bring to a boil over high heat.

2. Reduce heat to low, add the cinnamon stick, and let the lentils simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the lentils are tender and the liquid is mostly absorbed.

3. Remove the cinnamon stick and stir in the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

4. Serve the Lentils With Cinnamon Brown Sugar warm, garnished with additional cinnamon if desired.

Notes

This dish can be made ahead of time and reheated, or served as a side dish. For a creamier texture, you can add a splash of heavy cream or milk before serving.
