Description

Bring the vibrant flavors of Mexico to your table with this quick and easy homemade Mexican Salsa Recipe. Bursting with fresh tomatoes, onions, jalapeño, cilantro, and a squeeze of lime, this salsa is the perfect accompaniment to tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burgers, and more.

Ingredients

– 3 ripe tomatoes, diced

– 1/2 white onion, diced

– 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped

– 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

– 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. – In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, cilantro, lime juice, salt, and pepper. Stir to mix well.

2. – Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, adding more lime juice for acidity, jalapeño for heat, or salt and pepper to balance the flavors.

3. – Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or refrigerate for up to 3 days in an airtight container.

Notes

For a milder salsa, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño before chopping. If you prefer a smoother texture, you can pulse the salsa in a food processor or blender a few times. Experiment with different combinations of tomatoes, such as a mix of red and yellow or heirloom varieties, for added depth of flavor.
