Description

Indulge in the classic flavors of the Muffaletta Sandwich, a New Orleans-inspired masterpiece featuring a perfect blend of cured meats, cheese, and a tangy olive salad, all nestled between soft, crusty bread.

Ingredients

– 1 round loaf of Italian or French bread, sliced horizontally

– 4 oz thinly sliced Genoa salami

– 4 oz thinly sliced ham

– 4 oz thinly sliced provolone cheese

– 4 oz thinly sliced mozzarella cheese

– 1 cup olive salad (a mixture of chopped green and black olives, celery, onion, and a simple vinaigrette)

Instructions

1. – Slice the bread in half horizontally to create a top and bottom bun.

2. – Layer the salami, ham, provolone, and mozzarella cheese on the bottom half of the bread.

3. – Spread the olive salad evenly over the meat and cheese.

4. – Place the top half of the bread on the sandwich.

5. – Press down gently to compact the sandwich.

6. – Slice the sandwich into quarters and serve.

Notes

For best results, allow the sandwich to sit for 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld. You can also toast the bread lightly before assembling the sandwich for added crunch.
