Description

Indulge in the rich, garlicky goodness of this Mussels in White Wine Sauce recipe. Tender mussels are simmered in a flavorful sauce made with white wine, butter, and fragrant garlic, creating a restaurant-quality dish that’s easy to make at home.

Ingredients

– 2 pounds fresh mussels, scrubbed and debearded

– 1/2 cup dry white wine

– 4 cloves garlic, minced

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

– 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

– Salt and black pepper to taste

– Crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

1. Rinse the mussels under cold water, discarding any that are cracked or open and won’t close when tapped.

2. In a large pot or Dutch oven, combine the white wine, garlic, and butter. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.

3. Add the mussels, cover the pot, and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the mussels have opened up. Discard any mussels that did not open.

4. Stir in the chopped parsley and red pepper flakes (if using). Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

5. Serve the mussels immediately with the white wine garlic sauce, accompanied by crusty bread for dipping.

Notes

For best results, use the freshest mussels available. You can also add a splash of cream or lemon juice to the sauce for extra richness and acidity. Serve with a crisp white wine for the ultimate seafood pairing.
