Description

Indulge in the classic flavors of a Philly cheesesteak in this quick and easy sloppy joe recipe. Tender ground beef, melted cheese, and sautéed onions and peppers come together in a delicious sandwich that’s perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground beef

– 1 onion, diced

– 1 green bell pepper, diced

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 cup shredded provolone cheese

– 1/2 cup ketchup

– 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

– 1 tsp dried oregano

– Salt and pepper to taste

– 6 soft hamburger buns

Instructions

1. – In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and crumbled, 5-7 minutes.

2. – Add the onion and bell pepper to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

3. – Stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

4. – Reduce heat to low and stir in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.

5. – Remove from heat and stir in the shredded provolone cheese until melted.

6. – Divide the cheesy beef mixture evenly among the hamburger buns.

7. – Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add a dash of hot sauce or Dijon mustard to the sloppy joe mixture. You can also swap out the provolone for other melty cheeses like cheddar or Swiss.
