Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 2 cups granulated sugar

– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup buttermilk

– 1/2 cup vegetable oil

– 2 large eggs

– 2 tablespoons red food coloring

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a separate bowl, combine the buttermilk, oil, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla. Mix well.

4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

5. Gently fold in the chopped pecans.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Allow the cake to cool completely before serving.
