Description

Indulge in the irresistible, cheesy goodness of this Sourdough Discard Pull-Apart Garlic Bread. It’s the perfect way to use up your leftover sourdough starter and create a mouthwatering appetizer or side dish that’s ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon instant yeast

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 3/4 cup warm water

– 1/2 cup sourdough discard

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 4 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

– 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, and salt. Stir in the warm water and sourdough discard until a shaggy dough forms.

2. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

3. Grease a 9-inch round baking dish. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and arrange them in the prepared dish.

4. In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and minced garlic. Drizzle the garlic butter over the dough pieces, making sure to get it in between the layers.

5. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses over the top.

6. Bake at 400°F for 18-22 minutes, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add chopped fresh parsley or oregano to the garlic butter mixture. This bread is best enjoyed fresh, but any leftovers can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
