Description

Indulge in the rich, creamy, and irresistibly spicy Spicy Mexican Chocolate Silk Pie. This decadent dessert combines the deep, complex flavors of Mexican chocolate with a silky smooth texture, creating a truly enchanting experience for chocolate lovers.

Ingredients

– 1 pre-made pie crust

– 12 ounces bittersweet chocolate, chopped

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 3 large eggs

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/2 teaspoon chili powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. Prepare the pie crust by pressing it into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges decoratively and prick the bottom and sides with a fork. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden. Allow the crust to cool completely.

3. In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, chili powder, and salt. Whisk the mixture until well combined.

4. Place the saucepan over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 8-10 minutes. Be careful not to let the mixture boil.

5. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the chopped bittersweet chocolate. Continue stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture is smooth.

6. Pour the chocolate filling into the prepared pie crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.

7. Refrigerate the pie for at least 4 hours, or until it is completely set.

8. Serve chilled, with a dollop of whipped cream or a dusting of cocoa powder, if desired. Enjoy!

Notes

For an extra kick of spice, you can increase the chili powder to 1 teaspoon. You can also experiment with different types of chocolate, such as Mexican chocolate or a blend of dark and milk chocolate.
