Description

These Spicy Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms are a classic, crowd-pleasing appetizer that’s quick and easy to make. The bold, flavorful sausage filling perfectly complements the tender, savory mushrooms, creating an irresistible bite-sized treat.


Ingredients

– 24 fresh mushrooms, stems removed and finely chopped

– 1 pound spicy Italian sausage, casings removed

– 4 ounces cream cheese, softened

– 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 teaspoon dried parsley

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks, until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

3. Add the chopped mushroom stems, garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently, until the mushrooms are tender.

4. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the cream cheese and breadcrumbs until well combined.

5. Spoon the sausage mixture into the mushroom caps, filling them evenly.

6. Arrange the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the filling is hot and bubbly.

7. Serve the Spicy Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms warm, garnished with additional parsley if desired.

Notes

These stuffed mushrooms can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving. They also reheat well in the oven or microwave. For a milder flavor, use regular Italian sausage instead of spicy.
