Description

Flaky, buttery puff pastry twists filled with a creamy spinach and feta cheese mixture – the perfect savory appetizer or side dish!

Ingredients

– 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

– 10 oz frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry

– 1 cup crumbled feta cheese

– 1 egg, beaten

– 1 tbsp olive oil

– 1 tsp dried oregano

– 1/4 tsp garlic powder

– 1/4 tsp salt

– 1/8 tsp black pepper

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. 2. In a medium bowl, mix together the spinach, feta, olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.

3. 3. Unfold the puff pastry sheet and roll it out slightly to a 12×9-inch rectangle.

4. 4. Spread the spinach-feta mixture evenly over the pastry, leaving a 1/2-inch border.

5. 5. Cut the pastry lengthwise into 6 equal strips. Twist each strip several times and place on the prepared baking sheet.

6. 6. Brush the twisted pastries with the beaten egg.

7. 7. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown and puffed.

8. 8. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

– Serve these spinach and feta puff pastry twists as an appetizer or a side dish.

– For a crispier texture, bake the twists on a wire rack set over a baking sheet.

– Try different fillings like sun-dried tomatoes, olives, or roasted red peppers.
