Description

Indulge in the delectable Stuffed Leeks with Meat, a savory and satisfying dish that combines tender leeks with a flavorful meat filling. This recipe is perfect for a cozy dinner or an impressive gathering, offering a satisfying and flavor-packed culinary experience.

Ingredients

– 6 large leeks, washed and trimmed

– 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey

– 1 onion, finely chopped

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 teaspoon dried thyme

– 1 teaspoon dried oregano

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 1 cup breadcrumbs

– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

– 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Cut the leeks in half lengthwise and rinse them thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris.

3. In a large skillet, sauté the ground meat over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat.

4. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the onion is translucent.

5. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the dried thyme, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

6. In a separate bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese.

7. Carefully stuff the hollowed-out leek halves with the meat mixture, pressing it in gently.

8. Arrange the stuffed leeks in a baking dish and drizzle with the olive oil.

9. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the leeks are tender and the filling is hot and bubbly.

10. Serve the Stuffed Leeks with Meat warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

For a crunchy topping, you can sprinkle additional breadcrumbs or panko over the stuffed leeks before baking. Leftover Stuffed Leeks with Meat can be refrigerated for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
