Description

Elevate your sugar cookies with this quick and easy Sugar Cookie Frosting! This creamy, buttery topping comes together in just 5 minutes and adds a delightful sweetness to your baked treats.

Ingredients

– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

– 4 cups powdered sugar

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1-2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk (if needed)

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

2. Gradually add the powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

3. Mix in the vanilla extract until well combined.

4. If the frosting is too thick, add 1-2 tablespoons of heavy cream or milk and beat until the desired consistency is reached.

5. Use the frosting immediately to top your sugar cookies or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Notes

For a more decorative frosting, use a piping bag and tip to apply the frosting to the cookies. You can also add food coloring or sprinkles to customize the appearance.
