Description
Sumac Cucumbers is a quick, easy, and refreshing salad that’s perfect for hot summer days. The tangy, vibrant flavors of the sumac spice blend perfectly complement the crisp, crunchy cucumbers.
Ingredients
– 2 pounds English cucumbers, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
– 2 tablespoons lemon juice
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 teaspoon sumac spice
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced cucumbers, lemon juice, olive oil, sumac, salt, and pepper. Toss gently to coat the cucumbers evenly.
2. Let the salad sit for 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
3. Serve chilled or at room temperature, garnished with extra sumac if desired.
Notes
For best texture, use English or Persian cucumbers, which have fewer seeds and a crunchier bite. You can adjust the amount of sumac to suit your taste preferences. Leftovers will keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
