Description

Tallow-Fried Bacon Deviled Eggs are a mouthwatering, restaurant-quality appetizer that’s surprisingly easy to make at home. The crispy, golden-brown bacon topping and creamy, flavorful filling make these deviled eggs irresistible.

Ingredients

– 12 large eggs

– 1/2 cup mayonnaise

– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

– 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

– 1/4 teaspoon paprika

– 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/8 teaspoon black pepper

– 4 slices bacon, cooked until crispy

– 2 tablespoons tallow (or vegetable oil)

Instructions

1. Place the eggs in a single layer in a saucepan and cover with cold water by 1 inch. Bring to a boil over high heat.

2. Once the water boils, remove the pan from the heat, cover, and let the eggs sit for 12 minutes.

3. Drain the hot water and cover the eggs with cold water to cool completely, about 15 minutes.

4. Peel the eggs and cut them in half lengthwise.

5. Carefully remove the yolks and place them in a medium bowl.

6. Add the mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl with the yolks. Mash and stir until smooth and well combined.

7. Spoon or pipe the yolk mixture evenly back into the egg white halves.

8. In a small skillet, heat the tallow (or vegetable oil) over medium-high heat. Fry the bacon until crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.

9. Crumble the cooked bacon and sprinkle it over the top of the filled egg whites.

10. Serve the Tallow-Fried Bacon Deviled Eggs immediately or chill until ready to serve.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality eggs and freshly cooked bacon. The tallow adds a rich, savory flavor to the fried bacon topping, but you can also use vegetable oil if preferred. These deviled eggs are perfect for parties, holidays, or as a tasty snack.
