Description

Discover the vibrant and authentic flavors of Thai Basil Beef Rolls, a quick and easy-to-make dish that’s perfect for a weeknight meal or entertaining. Tender marinated beef, fresh vegetables, and aromatic herbs are wrapped in delicate rice paper for a satisfying and flavorful appetizer or light main course.

Ingredients

– 1 pound thinly sliced beef sirloin or flank steak

– 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce

– 2 tablespoons brown sugar

– 2 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 teaspoon sesame oil

– 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

– 12 rice paper wrappers

– 1 cup fresh Thai basil leaves

– 1 cup thinly sliced carrots

– 1 cup bean sprouts

– 1/2 cup thinly sliced red bell pepper

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, sesame oil, and black pepper. Toss to coat the beef, cover, and marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour in the refrigerator.

2. Fill a large shallow bowl or pie plate with warm water. Working with one rice paper wrapper at a time, soak it in the water until softened, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

3. Place the softened wrapper on a clean, damp work surface. Arrange a few slices of the marinated beef, a few basil leaves, some carrots, bean sprouts, and bell pepper near the bottom third of the wrapper.

4. Fold the bottom of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides and tightly roll up the wrapper to enclose the filling.

5. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and fillings.

6. Serve the Thai Basil Beef Rolls with your favorite dipping sauce, such as a sweet chili sauce or peanut sauce.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality, thinly sliced beef that is well-marinated. Adjust the vegetable fillings to your taste preferences. The rolls can be made ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 4 hours before serving.
