Description

These Thanksgiving Cookies are the perfect balance of buttery, sweet, and spiced flavors. They’re easy to make and sure to delight your guests with their mouthwatering texture and festive appearance.

Ingredients

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 large egg

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

1. 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. 2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Set aside.

3. 3. In a large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

4. 4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

5. 5. Scoop the dough by the tablespoonful and place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.

6. 6. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a festive touch, you can decorate the cooled cookies with a drizzle of melted white chocolate or sprinkle them with coarse sugar.
