Description
These Thanksgiving Green Beans are an easy, delicious side dish that’s perfect for your holiday table. Tender, buttery green beans with a touch of garlic and lemon make this a quick and flavorful addition to any Thanksgiving feast.
Ingredients
– 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. – Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and cook for 3-5 minutes, until tender-crisp.
2. – Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking.
3. – In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
4. – Add the blanched green beans to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until heated through.
5. – Remove from heat and stir in the fresh lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6. – Serve the Thanksgiving Green Beans hot, garnished with a sprinkle of lemon zest if desired.
Notes
For a heartier dish, you can add sautéed mushrooms, toasted almonds, or crispy onions. These green beans also make a great make-ahead side – simply blanch and shock the beans, then reheat in the garlic butter right before serving.
