Ingredients

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 5 large eggs, separated

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

– 1 (12 oz) can evaporated milk

– 1 cup whole milk

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 cup heavy cream, whipped

– Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

5. Gently fold the egg whites into the yolk mixture.

6. Slowly fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.

7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

8. Allow the cake to cool completely.

9. In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and whole milk.

10. Use a fork to poke holes all over the top of the cooled cake.

11. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, making sure it soaks in evenly.

12. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours, or up to 24 hours.

13. Just before serving, spread the whipped cream over the top of the cake.

14. Dust with powdered sugar and serve chilled.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can use a combination of whole milk and heavy cream in the milk mixture. Garnish with fresh berries or a drizzle of caramel sauce for an extra touch of elegance.
