Ingredients
– 1 package egg roll wrappers
– 2 cups shredded cabbage
– 1 cup shredded carrots
– 4 green onions, thinly sliced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon soy sauce
– 1 teaspoon sesame oil
– 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
– 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
– Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded cabbage, carrots, green onions, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, and white pepper. Mix well.
2. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface in a diamond shape. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the vegetable filling near the bottom third of the wrapper.
3. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then fold in the sides and tightly roll up the wrapper.
4. Heat 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven to 350°F. Carefully add the egg rolls and fry for 2-3 minutes per side until golden brown.
5. Transfer the fried egg rolls to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For a healthier option, you can bake the egg rolls at 400°F for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown.
