Ingredients
– 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
– 8 ounces wide rice noodles
– 3 tablespoons soy sauce
– 2 tablespoons brown sugar
– 2 tablespoons sesame oil
– 3 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
– 2 green onions, thinly sliced
– 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
– Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
1. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over high heat. Add the beef and sear until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
2. In the same skillet, add the remaining 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly, until fragrant.
3. Add the soy sauce, brown sugar, and a splash of water to the skillet. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it reduce for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, until slightly thickened.
4. Add the cooked beef back to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
5. Meanwhile, cook the rice noodles according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water.
6. Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the beef and sauce. Toss everything together until the noodles are fully coated.
7. Remove from heat and stir in the sliced green onions.
8. Serve the Korean Beef Noodle Bowls warm, garnished with sesame seeds.
Notes
For extra flavor, you can also add a dash of gochujang (Korean chili paste) to the sauce. This dish is best enjoyed immediately, but leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
