Description

Indulge in the sweet and nutty flavors of these Moroccan Honey Almond Cigars – a quick and easy pastry that’s perfect for any occasion. The flaky phyllo dough is filled with a delectable mixture of honey and toasted almonds, creating a mouthwatering treat that’s sure to delight.


Ingredients

– 8 sheets phyllo dough, thawed if frozen

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1 cup honey

– 1 1/2 cups sliced almonds, toasted


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean work surface and brush with melted butter. Top with another sheet of phyllo and brush with more butter.

3. Cut the layered phyllo dough into 6 equal strips, each about 3 inches wide.

4. Place 1-2 tablespoons of the honey-almond mixture at the end of each strip. Fold the dough over the filling, then continue to roll up the strip into a cigar shape.

5. Place the Moroccan Honey Almond Cigars seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

6. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.

7. Serve warm, drizzled with additional honey if desired. Enjoy!
