Description

Ingredients

– 12 ounces pink bow pasta

– 1 tablespoon olive oil

– 1 onion, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 cup vodka

– 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes

– 1 cup heavy cream

– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving

– 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped

– Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pink bow pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 5 minutes until translucent.

3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.

4. Pour in the vodka and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to cook off the alcohol.

5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes and heavy cream. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 5-7 minutes, until slightly thickened.

6. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and toss to coat. Stir in the 1/2 cup of Parmesan cheese and chopped basil.

7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

8. Serve the Pink Bow Pasta with Vodka Sauce immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves.

Notes

This recipe can be easily adjusted to suit your taste preferences. Try adding sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or grilled chicken for extra flavor and protein. The sauce can also be made in advance and reheated when ready to serve.
