Ingredients

– 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 1 egg

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 2 cups all-purpose flour

– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.

5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.

6. Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.

7. Pipe the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet, forming 1-inch round cookies with a swirled design.

8. Bake the cookies for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers are still slightly soft.

9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a more intense chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder. You can also experiment with different piping tips to create unique designs on the cookies.
