Description

This Skillet Turkey Chili is a hearty, flavor-packed dish that’s perfect for busy weeknights. Made with lean ground turkey, bell peppers, and a blend of spices, it’s a comforting and wholesome meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients

– 1 lb ground turkey

– 1 onion, diced

– 2 bell peppers, diced

– 3 cloves garlic, minced

– 1 tbsp chili powder

– 1 tsp cumin

– 1 tsp oregano

– 1/2 tsp smoked paprika

– 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)

– 1 (15 oz) can diced tomatoes

– 1 (15 oz) can kidney beans, drained and rinsed

– 1 cup chicken broth

– Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. – In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground turkey, breaking it up with a wooden spoon, until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

2. – Add the onions and bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5 minutes.

3. – Stir in the garlic and spices, and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.

4. – Pour in the diced tomatoes, kidney beans, and chicken broth. Bring the chili to a simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

5. – Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. – Serve the Skillet Turkey Chili hot, garnished with your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, sour cream, and chopped cilantro.

Notes

For a spicier chili, add more cayenne pepper. You can also swap in different types of beans, such as black beans or pinto beans. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
