Description

Ingredients

– 2 cans (15 oz each) navy beans, drained and rinsed

– 4 slices bacon, chopped

– 1 medium onion, diced

– 1/2 cup brown sugar

– 1/4 cup ketchup

– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

– 1 tablespoon mustard

– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

– Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

2. In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.

3. In the same skillet, sauté the diced onion in the bacon drippings until softened.

4. In a mixing bowl, combine the beans, cooked bacon, sautéed onion, brown sugar, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.

5. Pour the mixture into a baking dish and spread evenly.

6. Bake for 30 minutes, until bubbly and heated through.

7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For a vegetarian version, omit the bacon or substitute with smoked tofu. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
